The intent of this article is to detail the interview process for prospective candidates. This serves as a guidance for the Hiring Manager and Role Manager on the steps to be taken before, during and after the interview.

Interview.Stage

  1. Tap Send Interview Event button in the sidebar (every Wednesday)
  2. Review the interview questions and checklist in the activity section of this trello card

Candidate confirmed interview event

  • Yes : Move card to Interview.Dev list
  • No : Move card to Interview.Backlog list
  • Asked for a reschedule : See steps below
  1. Is this the first reschedule request? If yes, go through the steps below. If not, move this trello card to Acceptance.Done list (Note: Reschedule of interview can only be done ONCE)
  2. Check if the requested schedule is available
  3. If available, accept the proposed new interview event schedule and check this box to move card to Interview.Dev list
  4. If not available, look for another schedule near the requested date and time, send another interview event and then remind him that we can only reschedule once
  5. Uncheck Asked for a reschedule item to reset this checklist and go through the process again

Interview.Dev

It is a panel interview type and both the HM and RM should be in the People Pipeline meet mpp.epi.run   together with the candidate to start the interview.

For HM

  1. Join the People Pipeline meet mpp.epi.run  
  2. Disclaimer: This interview is recorded for quality purposes.
  3. Agenda: Introduction and briefing https://bit.ly/3dtdWgr  
  4. Let the RM finish asking questions then thank the candidate for his time and wait for him to leave the meet.
  5. Quick discussion between HM and RM about how the interview went then write down notes.
  6. Save the recorded interview into the HR drive (shortlink pending)
  7. Post shortlink of the recorded interview.
  8. Add label based on recommendation (e.g. Exceptional, Acceptable or Poor) and add Needs Review label.
  9. Check the box to move the card to Interview.Review list

For RM

  1. Join the People Pipeline meet mpp.epi.run  
  2. Follow the role-specific agenda listed below.
  3. Write notes and recommendation while discussing with the HM.

Role-specific agenda

Interview results scale

The HM should label the card based on the interview results scale below:

  1. Exceptional (Passed) : more than 85%
  2. Acceptable (Passed) : 70-85%
  3. Poor (Failed) : less than 70%

Interview.Review

After the panel interview, the HM will review the result and decide if the candidate passed or failed.

  1. Check the notes and recommendation of the RM.
  2. Listen to the recorded interview (if needed).
  3. Make a final decision.
