How to create CNAME records correctly

Registrars like Google tend to put the domain name at the End Data / Points To field. This creates issues. The intent of this support article is to provide quick tips in the case that the changes made to the DNS of your domain name aren’t being recognized.

Directions on how to remove the appended domain name

Since CNAME is an alias record, it can be a bit confusing and also be damaging if not used properly. Follow the directions below to remove the appended domain name.

1.Edit the record.
2. Remove everything after ‘aws.’

3. Click Save.
4. Take a screenshot of the record.
5. Send picture back to support agent.
